An Unmissable Event with Umberto Verna

ENAVE – Ente Navale Europeo, with the Rotary Club of Fano and other organizers and partners, is pleased to present “La Vela che Unisce”, a charitable event to be held on Saturday, July 20th, and Sunday, July 21st, 2024.

As part of this initiative, we invite you to participate in the event “Sulla zattera verso Itaca: Sicurezza in Nave”, taking place on Saturday, July 20th at 4:00 PM at the Marina dei Cesari dock. The event will feature Umberto Verna, a renowned sea safety specialist, founder of SAFETY WORLD, and director of the Centro Studi. Participation is free and open to everyone.

During “Sulla zattera verso Itaca”, Umberto Verna, with his extensive experience in maritime safety, will provide an in-depth analysis of the three crucial areas of seafaring: Safety, Emergency, and Survival. During the event, Verna will emphasize the importance of considering these three components as fundamental for safe navigation. Safety, which must be ensured even before setting sail; Emergency, a situation to be avoided but for which one must be prepared, such as dealing with a sudden gust of wind or a severe storm; and finally, Survival, made possible thanks to the GMDSS system and the SAR service.

At the end of the presentation, there will be a Q&A session where participants can ask questions and clarify doubts, helping to dispel many common myths related to navigation. Finally, after the Q&A session, there will be a demonstration on how to open the life raft, directly addressing the topic of survival.
